Mercedes Schlapp's role in the role of White House Strategic Communications Advisor isn't simple. It is not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to be the adviser to strategic communications at the White House. Schlapp has kept her focus through the entire process, collaborating closely with White House policy and political teams, as well as legislative affairs team and shops. To date, her focus has been issues such as school safety and the opioid crisis, infrastructure, trade along with other issues. She has not had much contact with the media as part of her role. The media attention she received in March came when she came up as one of the potential candidates to replace Hope Hicks. Mercedes Schlapp does not have an easy job as White House strategic communication adviser. It's not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to be the White House's strategic communications advisor. She has to contend with a myriad of challenges, including as being the President's communications director, and is his communications director. Schlapp has kept her eye on the goal, coordinating policy implementation with White House staff from the political and legislative affairs team and policy shop and broader communications. In the beginning, she has concentrated on school safety problems, addiction issues infrastructure, trade, and addiction. The position she holds, however, means that Schlapp has not been in touch with media. But, back in March, her name was rumored to be a possible person who could take over Hope Hicks at the Communications Director post. The battle has been bitter. The allies of Schlapp and Tony Sayegh began to joust with the media. Schlapp made a call to Sayegh when that the Washington Examiner printed a bad report about him.
