Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases.
